Frequently asked questions

What is WhenNext UK?

WhenNext UK is a free reference site listing upcoming UK dates with simple countdowns. It covers bank holidays, tax deadlines, sporting events, seasonal food, countryside seasons, awareness campaigns, wildlife windows and more — all in one place, ordered by what is happening soonest.

How are dates verified?

Every date is checked against an official or authoritative source — the Environment Agency for fishing seasons, HMRC for tax deadlines, the AELTC for Wimbledon dates, and so on. Each page shows when it was last verified. Fixed statutory dates are updated once; recurring events like Wimbledon are refreshed each year.

Do I need an account?

No. Browse, search, and view countdowns without any account. The email reminder feature only needs an address — no account, no password, no newsletters.

How do email reminders work?

On any date page, enter your email to receive one reminder email seven days before the event. Tick the annual option and we will remind you every year. That is the only email you will receive from us for that date.

Can I add dates to my calendar?

Yes. Every event page has an Add to calendar link that downloads an .ics file compatible with Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook and most other calendar apps.

How often is the site updated?

The site rebuilds automatically. Countdowns refresh every 15 minutes on the homepage and once a day on individual event pages. New dates are added as they are confirmed and verified.

Can I share a date with someone?

Yes. Every event page has a Share on WhatsApp button. You can also copy the URL — each date has a permanent, shareable page.

How many dates does WhenNext UK cover?

Currently 126 UK dates across 18 categories, from bank holidays and tax deadlines to wildlife seasons and stargazing windows.
