Ospreys usually return to UK breeding sites from late March through April after wintering in West Africa. Scotland remains a stronghold, but birds now breed at sites in England and Wales too, including well-known reserve projects with nest cameras. The best viewing is from official hides and viewpoints, where disturbance is controlled. Autumn migration normally begins from late August into September.
